Hello, I Must Be Going

The rejection of a pass not even made
should have been the final rusty nail in
the piney-wood coffin;

Already laid out in farced repose; now,
apparently, not even the wise-cracks are
taken in the spirit proffered.

Another reminder the idea that ‘going out’
just might keep one ‘sane.’ The trade-off
becomes evermore one-sided.
